Reasons   to Take a Beach Hotel Holiday

If you’re ready to book a holiday but you're not sure whether you want mountains or the sea, staying in a beach hotel could give you the best of both worlds. The benefits of the beach hotel are clear; you're just a stone’s throw away from a sandy paradise or you can head out for a day trip in the opposite direction to make the most of inland adventures. If you're taking a family holiday then a beach hotel is ideal - you can keep the kids happy by spending time in the sea and you can also explore the many other delights that your destination offers.

If you're looking for a balance between budget and beauty, then Cyprus is a great beach holiday destination worth considering. Cyprus is easy to get to from many different parts of the world, due to its enviable location between three different continents. Because the people are so friendly, you will be sure of getting first-class treatment in your Cyprus hotel. Not only that, but Cyprus is bathed in sunshine nearly every day of the year, so you can step out onto that beach no matter what season you travel in.

BeachHotel Holidays - Where Water Sports Are Just a Step Away

With accommodation by the sea you will have plenty of chances to make the most of the wonderful clean waters. Your Cyprus beach hotel will give you the opportunity to try out plenty of water sports if you wish.

One particularly popular activity is scuba diving - don't worry if you're a beginner, as there will be plenty of help on hand with instructors there to show you the ropes. Other options include sailing, canoeing or a fun trip out on a pedalo. For adrenaline junkies there are more challenging water sports available such as water skiing or windsurfing.

A Bit of Cyprus Sightseeing

When you've had enough of the beach, Cyprus has plenty of other things that you can enjoy while on your holiday. There really is something for everyone so head inland and see what you can find. You can shop in designer boutiques, explore the amazing archaeology or take the kids to one of the fabulous animal parks. Cyprus is also well known for its fantastic cuisine, so pop into a local taverna for a Cypriot meze, or try out one of the fine dining establishments available. No matter what’s on your holiday itinerary, a beach hotel holiday in Cyprus will leave you feeling relaxed and very happy!

Water sports holidays in Cyprus
With around 50 blue flag beaches,  a water sports holiday in Cyprus is guaranteed to be safe and clean - no debris to dodge when you’re snorkelling or splashing around in a pedalo! The area around Pissouri Bay is particularly popular for water sports holidays, with PADI diving instructors offering some fantastic scuba diving experiences at some incredible sites.

The Zenobia Wreck is a well known dive spot in Cyprus, with experienced divers travelling from all over the world to take advantage of this, one of the top ten dive sites in the world. The Cyprus coastline is scattered with many other beautiful diving locations, where you can explore incredible underwater formations, swim through marine tunnels and caves and enjoy the colourful marine life on display such as octopus, pike fish and many other beautiful aquatic creatures.

If scuba diving or snorkelling aren’t the water sports of your choice, there are plenty of other water based activities for you to enjoy on your holiday in Cyprus. You can navigate a sailing boat, or hop on a jet ski for some fast paced fun over the waves. There is also windsurfing, canoes and the hilarious banana boat ride!

A Holiday I Enjoyed!!!

It's hard to know where to start really, the Columbia Beach Resort was pretty much perfect for us and it was a wrench to leave and have to travel back home to the gloomy British weather. We'd already decided to take our holidays in Cyprus after hearing great things from friends and family who have been there before. We also didn't want to have to travel too far and Cyprus holidays seemed the perfect compromise to get plenty of sunshine but without having a really long flight.

At first we were looking for a hotel in Cyprus that would be close to lots of things to do and would be fairly cheap. We ended up having a change of heart when we started looking at what was available and we decided that we'd treat ourselves to a 5 star hotel in Cyprus and really make the most of our time there. Although it did cost us quite a lot more than we first had budgeted for it was definitely worth the extra money and once we decided it would be our only holiday of the year it made sense to splash out and really enjoy it.

I have to say that when it comes to Cyprus hotels the Columbia Beach resort really must be right up there among the best because everything was perfect and the staff clearly work hard to make sure that their visitors are happy. The reception staff helped us on several occasions to arrange trips and taxis so that we could explore around the area but in honestly we could have quite happily stayed at the resort the whole time because it was so relaxing and beautiful.

One thing we did notice was that there were lots of people enjoying golfholidays, Cyprus has loads of golf courses and apparently some of the best are around Pissouri but this didn't really appeal to us so we spent a lot of time at the pool and on the beach. It's also great for spa holidays because the resort has its own spa which has even won awards and we did make use of the facilities although I was reluctant to pay for treatments after spending so much on the holiday.

Being a beach resort you've got the beach and water sports and things right close to the hotel which is brilliant and would be fantastic for people with children. We found the food to be of a really high quality and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for some Cyprus fine dining! They serve lovely coffee as well which gave us a nice kick start in the mornings after a night of cocktails before!

The Columbia has a great reputation as a luxury hotel. Cyprus is a gorgeous place to visit and you really do get luxury if you stay here - you get what you pay for! If you want to splash out on your Cyprus holidays definitely give the Columbia Beach Resort a try. Would really like to go back one day but will probably have to save up for a little while first!
